Payment and refund policy

Last updated 29 Sep 2026

This policy explains how you pay for freelance work with me, Jax (muxover), and when you can get money back. It's part of the terms of service. If a signed project agreement says something different, the agreement applies.

1. Quotes and prices

Every project gets a written scope and a fixed quote that states the amount and the currency. The price only changes if the scope changes and you agree to it in writing. Larger projects can be split into milestones, each with its own deliverables and price, as set out in the quote.

Prices don't include taxes, duties or bank charges you may owe in your own country, or crypto network fees, which are paid by the sender.

2. When you pay

  • 50% deposit before work starts. The project is booked and work begins once it's received.
  • 50% balance before handover of the final deliverables, such as the source code, credentials and deployment.

On milestone projects, the quote says how the payments are split. You get an invoice for every payment and a receipt once it's received.

3. How you can pay

Card

Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay, through a secure payment link from Ziina. Your card details are entered on Ziina's page and never reach me.

Cryptocurrency

To the address and network on the invoice, or through a crypto payment link. The coins and networks I accept are listed on each invoice. Before you send:

  • Check the address and the network. Funds sent to the wrong address or network usually can't be recovered.
  • Send the full amount on the invoice. The crypto amount is fixed when the invoice is issued, and invoices can expire so the rate stays fair.
  • You pay the network fee.

A crypto payment counts as received once it's confirmed on-chain for the full amount.

I don't accept bank transfers.

4. Late payments

If a payment is late, work pauses until it arrives and the timeline moves by the same amount. Deliverables for unpaid work aren't handed over. If a payment is more than 30 days late, I can end the project under the terms of service.

5. Refunds

Before work starts

If you cancel before I've started, I refund your deposit in full.

After work starts

The deposit covers work already done and isn't refunded. On milestone projects, you get back anything you've paid for a milestone that hasn't been started. Delivered and accepted work isn't refunded.

If I can't deliver

If I have to stop a project myself, or I can't deliver what the scope describes, I refund everything you've paid for work that wasn't delivered.

Problems with delivered work

If something doesn't work as the scope describes, I fix it at no charge within the fix period in the terms of service. Fixing comes before refunding, but if I can't fix it, you get a fair refund for the part that doesn't work.

How refunds are paid

Refunds go back the way you paid: to your card through Ziina, or in the same cryptocurrency to an address you give me, less the network fee. They're paid in the amount and currency of the original payment, so exchange rate changes aren't covered either way. I send them within 14 days of agreeing the refund. Card refunds can take a few more days to show up, depending on your bank.

6. Disputes and chargebacks

If something's wrong with a payment or a delivery, email me first at contact@muxover.com. Most problems are faster to fix directly. If you open a chargeback for a payment that was for delivered work, I'll share the project records with the payment provider to resolve it.

7. Services on subdomains

Services I run on my own subdomains may have their own pricing and terms. Where they do, those are shown in the service itself and apply alongside this policy.
